Not Enough Space For Your Event

A host has to take into account the comfort of his or her guests. One way to ensure that they have that level of comfort they are expecting is to make sure that there is enough space for everyone to sit comfortably. Many people may only think this means having enough room for everyone to sit at the dinner table. Yet, unless you are restricting your guests to staying at the table, you may need other space too. Plus, it is not just seating that you need to take into consideration. As you plan your event, take into consideration the amount of space you need to host it successfully.
A good place to start is with seating at the table. Be sure that each guest has enough room in terms of elbow space. The dinner plate, napkins and glasses should not be smashed together. Rather, spread out the space to make sure that there is enough room for everyone's needs. Chairs should have a bit of room next to them too, so that everyone can stand up and move around, as they would like to.
Next, consider other seating in the home. Is there enough room for guests to sit comfortably on couches and chairs to converse? You may want to set up several areas where guests can chat together in a small group, especially if you will be inviting a larger group of people. Be sure that there are accommodations for everyone, no matter what their size or physical disabilities may be.
Finally, another consideration for space is not in the home at all but outside. Is there enough parking for your guests? Is there anyone that will need special help getting into and out of the car and into the home? These are all small things that if you plan for in advance will impress your guests and help each one to feel like you have thought about them. It helps to define a successful event.
Space is comfort. Most people do not enjoy being smashed up against the persons sitting next to them. Rather, give them some added room by moving around and trying different configurations to make sure that everyone can be accommodated. Sometimes, the best things you can do is to decide there just is not enough room and either cut down on your invites or find another place to host your event so that each person is comfortable.
